How We Support Your Business
Since 2009, we have helped businesses across sectors such as manufacturing, pharma, agri-food, retail and hospitality make procurement decisions they can stand over, especially when markets are moving fast.
We advise on when to go to market, how contracts should be structured and how much risk makes sense for your business.
For large energy users, that means structured procurement strategies, access to real trading insight and decisions that hold up at board level.
For complex, multi-site SMEs, it means straight answers, no pressure and a clear path forward.
We provide real independent advice, with an integrated procurement, trading and engineering team that has no agenda, other than yours.
Energy Audit & Compliance
Exemplar’s Engineering team helps you know where every Kilowatt goes and stay compliant.
If your business is large enough to fall under S.I. 426 an energy audit every 4 years isn’t optional its the law. We will help you stay compliant without fuss. If you are not obliged an audit is often the smartest money you will spend on energy, it gives you a prioritised plan for savings, payback and carbon. Our analysis gives clear findings ranked by payback separating quick wins from capital intensive projects.
We Cover:
- SSEA Audits – Supported through the voucher scheme for SMEs
- S.I 426 Audits – Compliance Audit
- EXEED Audits – SEAI’s Excellence in Energy Efficient Design, from concept to final install with grant funding secured along the way.
HVO Generation & Capacity Market Participation
Turn backup power from a cost into an asset
Most standby generators burn diesel and sit ideal for much of the year a pure cost and carbon impact. We change both sides of the equation.
HVO (Hydrotreated vegetable oil) is a renewable, drop in diesel replacement that will significantly cut generation emissions and through Ireland’s capacity market, generation you already own or that we help you install can earn revenue for simply being available when the grid is under pressure.
- Generator Strategy: Right sizing, HVO conversion and fuel logistics.
- Capacity Market Qualification: Contract management with the aggregators.
- Resilience you can rely on in the event of a power issues.
- Joined up with your traded position generation, demand and price risk managed as one.
Solar and On Site Renewables
Generate where you consume:
Every unit you generate on site is a unit you don’t buy at retail rates the strongest hedge there is. We’ve engineered some of Ireland’s landmark commercial installations, including the 1,500kW rooftop array at Sam Dennigan & Co, one of the country’s largest at the time.
We’re technology-neutral and supplier independent: we design for your load profile, your roof and your balance sheet, then run the procurement so installers compete for the work to spec.
- Sized based on your real demand not installer optimism
- Design, tender, grant support and project management to handover
- Battery storage and export contracts where they genuinely stack up
Energy Efficiency Projects
The cheapest kilowatt is the one you never use.
Beyond generation sits the everyday plant machinery that quietly drives your bill: heating, cooling, air movement, and the controls that orchestrate them. We identify, design, and deliver the upgrades that pay. We tell you plainly when an opportunity is not going to pay off. That’s our standard commercial merit needs to be considered.
We cover:
- Heat pumps
- Refrigeration systems
- Air handling units
- Heat recovery systems
- Controls and BMS
- LED and lighting

FAQs
Both. Because cost is only half the story.
Procurement manages unit price. Engineering reduces consumption. Together, they give you control. We support audits, identify practical opportunities, and help verify results so you can be confident the savings are real.
Some organisations do. Many others should.
If you have an audit obligation, we’ll help you meet it without fuss. If you don’t, an audit can still be a smart move: it gives you a prioritised plan for savings, payback and carbon reduction.
Innovation is anything that gives you more control: price control, carbon control, or performance control.
Examples include:
- Corporate PPAs (CPPAs) to secure renewable supply and create a long-term price hedge, where appropriate.
- Better use of half-hourly data to spot waste and prevent cost creep.
- Joining up procurement with an engineered efficiency plan so decarbonisation is real, not a slide.
